Hi,
For the past two months my tenants haven't paid rent, yet I have reason to believe they are running a scam and have done this before as they come up with constant excuses for not paying so much so that they actually believe the lies they tell me as the landlord. I have taken them to the RHT for Facilitation and they broke the legally binding agreement therefore they will have to now evict the property by mid October and I will have to take the matter to court to claim back the outstanding rental. The latest excuse was that the bank emailed me the proof of payment yet I never received it, the question I have is how can I access whether or not the tenants are blacklisted as dodgy tenants? I did do a credit check on them and it came up with one item owing a small amount of money but that is it. Also if the tenants aren't blacklisted I would like to black list them so future landlords won't ahve the same nightmare I've been experiencing!
Thanks

Hi Damon, thank you for being a responsible landlord and reporting your delinquent tenant. You are able to blacklist the tenant on TPN - from the main menu, select Rental Blacklisting, enter the tenants details (there is a 5 page wizard). When you blacklist choose both the TPN and TransUnion databases. If you are not already a TPN member you can email me for the required documentation: michelle@tpn.co.za
